DEVON REGION
Dear Prospective New Member
On behalf of the committee and other members, I would like to offer you a very warm welcome to the Devon Region of the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club.
Our membership list spreads across Devon and Somerset. We have a wide selection of Jaguar and Daimler cars within our club. Whether you are the sort of person who likes "hands on" maintenance or prefers to entrust the care of your car to professionals, we have members who have a wealth of knowledge, which they will be happy to share with you.
We take part in a varied selection of activities within the club. Our philosophy is that the greatest pleasure that can be gained form owning a Jag or a Daimler is to drive it in good company. We have fun runs and treasure hunts as well as attending other classic car shows.
On club nights (which are held on the last Wednesday of the month at the Gipsy Hill Hotel, Pinhoe, Exeter). We enjoy a wide range of activities including guest speakers, video evenings, technical advice and sometimes a plain old" noggin and a natter" session.
If your work or family commitments do not allow you to attend club nights, don't worry! We have weekend activities. Recent excursions have included a trip to The Webbington Hotel for Sunday lunch. In the past, we have visited by coach the Jaguar factories at Browns Lane to visit the Jaguar Heritage Collection; followed by a trip to the Castle Bromwich works too see the S type being built. In addition to this, we also have a quarterly newsletter, which will keep you in touch with forthcoming events.
We are definitely a family club and all members of your family and partners are most welcome.
We are affiliated to the national Jaguar Enthusiasts Club, which produces a very informative monthly colour magazine. If you would like to know more about the details of the benefits of joining the national club, if you are not already a member, then any committee member will be pleased to help you. Alternatively, for the technically minded, visit the JEC national website http://www.jec.org.uk
In short, I believe we are a friendly club. The more you put into our club, which we truly hope will be "your" club, the more you will get out of it.
I am sorry if I have not yet had the opportunity to meet you in person. I look forward to doing so very soon.
